Last updated: 20th July, 2026

DashByte Co. ("DashByte", "we", "us") is a registered Australian company. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website or when you contact us directly, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Three principles sit behind everything below:

  • We do not ask for personal information unless we need it to respond to you or work with you.
  • We do not share your personal information with anyone, except where the law requires it or a service you've requested depends on it.
  • We do not keep personal information longer than we reasonably need it.

What we collect, and why

When you send a message through the contact form or email us directly, we collect your name, email address, company name, and whatever you include in your message. We use this to respond to your enquiry.

When you book a call, our scheduling provider (Calendly) collects your name, email address, and your answers to the booking questions, including your company, role, and what you'd like to discuss. We use this to prepare for and hold the meeting. If you add colleagues as guests to a booking, their details are used only to invite them to that meeting. Meetings are held on Microsoft Teams, which processes attendee names and emails as part of the calendar invitation.

When preparing for a meeting, we may also refer to publicly available professional information, such as LinkedIn profiles or company websites.

When you browse this site, our website platform (Squarespace) collects standard analytics information such as pages visited, approximate location, device type, and how you arrived at the site. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Squarespace and Calendly also set cookies needed for their services to work; see "Cookies" below.

We do not collect sensitive information through this website, and we ask that you don't include confidential or commercially sensitive material in an enquiry — that comes later, under an agreement, if we work together. How information and data are handled within a consulting engagement is governed by the agreement for that engagement, not this policy.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Third-party services

This website relies on a small number of service providers who process personal information on our behalf:

  • Squarespace - website hosting and the contact form
  • Calendly - scheduling
  • Microsoft (Teams, Outlook) - meetings, calendar, and email

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy, and some store data on servers outside Australia (typically in the United States). By using the contact form or booking a call, you acknowledge that the information involved may be stored by these providers overseas.

This website also links to external sites and services (such as LinkedIn). DashByte isn't responsible for the privacy practices of other websites — check their policies directly.

How we protect information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, and improper disclosure, including using established providers with standard security practices, and to dispose of information appropriately when it's no longer required.

Cookies

This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function (provided by Squarespace) and for the booking calendar to work (provided by Calendly), along with Squarespace's analytics cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will still work, though the booking calendar may not.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry and booking information for as long as it's relevant to an actual or potential working relationship, and take reasonable steps to remove it once it's no longer needed.

Access, correction, and questions

You can ask at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@dashbyteco.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, this policy will be updated and the "last updated" date revised.
